The most common type of playing card is that found in the French-suited, standard 52-card pack, of which the most common design is the English pattern, followed by the Belgian-Genoese pattern. However, many countries use other, traditional types of playing card, including those that are German, Italian, Spanish and Swiss-suited. In 1930, thanks to an outstanding donation to the City of Issy-les-Moulineaux, the collection of the French Museum of Playing Card was initiated. A collection of more than 11.000 pieces is today kept at the Museum in an original collection composed of pieces from several origins:
– France is represented through its Old Regime “portrait régionaux” (regional portrait), the changes occurred during the French Revolution and the birth of the current “portrait official”.
– Several European patterns : German , Italian, Spanish are also exposed.
– Asia reveals its playing cards from India, China and Japan with original shapes and contents.
The Museum exposes fancy cards inciting dreams, laughs and discoveries but also documentation on playing cards manufacturing and regulation and art pieces showing playing scenes or the universe of car players.

- Delivery packaging: card deck individually shrink-wrapped if no box is chosen. Card band used for cards if plastic or tin box chosen. If tuck boxes are chosen, they will be shrink-wrapped. Uncut sheets are rolled up and put into a hardened tube.
